James Sunderland is an accomplished television producer boasting 22 years of experience in showrunning and executive producing. With a proven track record of success, James has played an integral role in bringing some of the world’s most renowned reality and entertainment formats to screens in both the USA and UK. His expertise lies in collaborating with A-list talent and top-tier production companies to ensure the successful execution of a wide range of projects entertainment formats to success in television.

In the United States, James has served as Executive Producer on many shows including Drag Me To Dinner (HULU/Matador), RuPaul’
In The UK
In the UK, James served as showrunner for three seasons of the highly acclaimed Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway (ITV). Under his leadership, the show garnered numerous accolades, including the Rose D’or for Best Variety Show in 2004, and began its winning streak of ‘Best Entertainment Program’ at the UK’s National Television Awards. His UK credits further encompass Ant & Dec’s Gameshow Marathon (ITV), The British Soap Awards (ITV), The Royal Variety Performance (ITV), HRH Prince Charles Trust 30th Birthday Live (ITV), Dancing On Ice (ITV), Stars In Their Eyes (ITV), and You’ve Been Framed! (ITV).
Development
In addition to showrunning James has developed formats for multiple production companies. In 2018 he successfully partnered with world-renowned creative director Laurieann Gibson on the follow documentary series Laurieann Gibson: Beyond The Spotlight (Lifetime) following Laurieann through her creative process with a whole range of performers.
Last Words
With over two decades in television production, James succeeds in all phases of the production process including idea and format development, casting, team building, constructing budgets, schedules, calendars, scripts and rundowns, and overseeing post production. Throughout all phases of production he works directly with all creative departments to ensure a seamless execution.
Originally hailing from Manchester, UK, James is currently based in Los Angeles and has led production teams in New York, Atlanta, Las Vegas, and Mexico. Prior to establishing his presence in Los Angeles, James provided consultancy services for the international development of hit ITV network formats across Europe.
